Welcome to Friday Night Chats! I'm so happy to have you here. As you read this I'll be at event called Queer Joy. I decided to organise it because the community has been so hammered for the last few years...So I won't be able to reply to comments until later but, let's chat!

How are you? It's raining (again) and I really cannot believe it's October next month. I saw Christmas shirts at the shops yesterday! This is too much!
It's been a great week. I had the Young Activist Workshop on Tuesday, which was so great. What an amazing group of kids! It gave me so much hope for the future because these kids are so on to it! They're so intelligent and compassionate and kind and confident. Just awesome.
We made badges and T-shirts and talked about grassroots activism and volunteering. It was such a massive pick-me-up for me, and I think the rangatahi liked it too.

One awesome kid was wearing a 'Take Back The Night' tee shirt and I was like - Oh my gosh, I was part of 'Take Back The Night'! And she said, 'Yeah, my mum was too; she gave it to me'. And for a second I was like, was your mum 11 when she had you? Then I realised I have a 13-year-old. And the girl wearing the Take Back The Night tee is the same age as him.
COOL COOL COOL.

What I've been watching:
Not much, but I am so freakin excited about watching two things!!!
1) I am also completely obsessed with this (NSFW)!!! Honestly, I am just so so keen for this. It Gets Worse apparently comes out next month?! I have watched this clip so many times it's embarrassing.
2) You know my obsession with that weird little freak Nathan Fielder? Well his secret project was interviewing Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes right before she began her 11-year prison sentence!! Can you imagine?! You have a baby and you're about to spend a decade in prison and you decide to do a documentary with NATHAN FIELDER!?!
I am so obsessed, honestly.
Before you watch this (I don't know when it comes out) make sure you watch The Dropout which is amazing. And also watch season 2 of The Rehearsal. You should watch season 1, too. But season 2 is incredible.
Josh has another video out! His new job means he can finally start making stuff for his YouTube channel regularly and if you are a massive Lord of the Rings nerd or just hate Big Tech you will love this. Apparently if you do watch it you have to watch until the end or it messes up his YouTube stats but he's also designed them so you can just listen like it's a podcast, you don't actually have to look at the screen. What I've been listening to:
I am still listening to Twilight, and it's ruining my life. It is just straight-up Mormon propaganda purity culture bullshit.
I'm listening to the Daisy Jones and The Six audiobook primarily because my wife Jennifer Beals voices Daisy. But it's actually so good. I loved Atmosphere so maybe I'll just start only reading Taylor Jenkins Reid from now on.
Have you seen the TV show? I think I might be the only one who loved it?
This is such a cool remix of Not Many. Very cool to hear another indigineous version this time from across the ditch.
