Thank you New Zealand

As our pōhutukawa bloom, we are asking you to help hope bloom in Gaza for our precious families.

While our babies open presents on Christmas Day, in Gaza, mothers mourn their children. Unable to even bury them.

It is bitterly cold in Gaza right now, yet surviving Palestinians are in broken tents, with regular flooding and preventable diseases rampant.

They need to buy warm clothes for their surviving babies and food for little bellies. They need to know we haven't forgotten them.

They need to feel Aotearoa's warmth in their darkest, coldest days.

Every tiny bit helps.

Since the so-called ceasefire, Israel has killed 342 Palestinian civilians, with children, women and the elderly accounting for the majority of the victims.Israel has violated Gaza truce nearly 500 times in 44 days.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED MORE THAN EVER.

Over the period 1-12 December, we are fundraising for the Aotearoa 4 Gaza mutual aid fund to cover weekly payments to more than 60 families over the holiday period.

By 12th December, our goal is to raise a minimum of $18,000 to contribute a weekly koha of $100NZD to each family during this period, or up to $30,000, which will allow us to contribute $150NZD.

Every person who contributes to this fundraising drive will be sent a thank-you Christmas e-card that they can keep or send on as a Christmas e-gift. We know it's not much - but we are eternally grateful for your love and support for the precious families in Gaza who will survive because of your generosity.

Thank you from the Aotearoa 4 Gaza Mutual Aid team (Emily Writes + Chaz Harris + volunteers) and from our families and loved ones in Gaza: Alaa, Doaa, Hosam, Fadi, Ahmed Y, Yasmin, Jehad, Shaima, Dina, Huda, Asma, Sondos, Ahmed Q, Eman, Tea,  Zareef G, Omar, Fatima, Hadeel, Lena, Mahmoud, Mohammed F, Odaii, Sabreen, Sahar, Muhammad B, Sajood, Heba, Laila, Sannah, Sondos A, Uday, Wassim, Yasmeen, Zareef, Zohir, Khloud, Amal, Imane, Samah, Kareem, Ola, Balsam, Shireen, Sham, Abdullah, Eileen, Aisha, Yahya, Maria, Hazem, Malek, Hassan, Zainab, Yazan, Youssef, and all of their extended families.
